Uttarakhand Police have registered an FIR against Girdhari Lal Sahu, husband of state Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya, on her complaint alleging threats to her life, casteist abuse, physical assault, forgery and criminal conspiracy. Arya lodged the complaint after receiving an audio clip purportedly featuring her husband talking to a woman, which subsequently went viral on social media.
